This series of paintings has been inspired by the works of the late Canadian artist Jean Albert McEwen (1923 - 1999) The paintings are created by gradually building up several layers of paint, first with the use of brushes and then finished with various-sized palette knives. Each work, where RED is the main event, has a multitude of variations of red and/or orange, sometimes pink, dark greys and black, and often gold.
